Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva assigned police commissioner-general Patcharawat Wongsuwan and other relevant units to quickly resolve the continuing and intensifying dispute between a large group of vendors and a market operator - Legal Profession Co- at Klong Toey fresh market.
The police must settle the conflict as quickly as possible, Mr Abhisit said on Saturday
Hoever, he admitted that influential outsiders were behind the Klong Toey dispute, but refused to name them.
Metropolitan Police commissioner Vorapong Chiewpreecha said arrest warrants had been issued for 10 Klong Toey vendors who blockaded Rama IV road on Thursday. The police had clear evidence against them, he said.
